An Australian news host narrowly escaped being seriously injured, or worse, during a live segment involving a YouTuber and science experimenter on Nov. 28.

Jacob Strickling, known for conducting daring science experiments on social media, was a guest on the show "Studio 10" where he was demonstrating how soda-filled bottles can be converted into small rockets when liquid nitrogen is poured in them, the Huffington Post reported.

After a solo performance for a bit, Strickling invited Natarsha Belling, one of the show’s hosts to hold one of the coke bottles as he conducts the experiment. Natarsha was a reluctant participator, asking Strickling how she should be holding the bottle.

"I’ve done it twice ― you should’ve been watching," Strickling said. Belling answered: "I wasn’t watching."

Belling was supposed to turn the bottle completely upside down, making it shoot straight up into the sky. Instead, the uncertain host turned the bottle to the side, in an attempt to put it down on the ground.

That is when things take a shocking turn. The bottle takes off like a rocket straight for Belling’s face, missing her right ear by inches. A shell-shocked belling is seen running away and returning soon after with a nervous smile on her face. Belling then points to her right ear, saying, "I can't hear out of my right ear. What were your insurance details?"

As everyone present at the taping seemed to make light of the situation afterwards, the camera pans to capture a branch of a nearby tree that had been blown off by the sheer force of the bottle.

"Can’t believe people think playing with liquid nitrogen is safe. That s--- is not safe for toying around. And there are these wannabe scientists who promote that kind of shit, like find some other kid-friendly science shit too do, you aint Bill Nye!" commented one YouTube user below the video.

Another wrote: "Women never do anything right. How do you f--- up turning something upside down? You just saw how fast the other one took off, why the f--- would you point it at your face?"
