“Westworld” has now started preparations for its second season, and Evan Rachel Wood, who plays host Dolores Abernathy, recently talked to one of her co-stars about a mystery “door.”

Wood shared a screenshot of her conversation on Instagram. She said she was joking around with her co-star, and fans were quick to make references to the show in the comments feed.

“Doesn't look like anything to me,” several people wrote, while a good many others commented: “Cease all motor functions.”

She didn’t say who she was joking around with, but it could be her Season 1 buddy Jimmi Simpson, who played the young William. The two got along really well during the first season, and Wood has repeatedly said that she was heartbroken over the fact that Simpson’s character eventually grew up to become the sadistic Man in Black played by Ed Harris.

Given that reveal, there’s no more need for young William to continue appearing on the HBO show. Even Simpson himself agrees that show producers should not let young William “stick” around for no good reason. “We now know the finish line for this man so I don’t know if there’s enough story to show. But I could see some interesting ways to bring him back. Like the corporate takeover, or his other heartbroken visits to the park. But I’d never suggest they just stick William in for no reason,” he told Gold Derby.

Simpson is actually more excited about Dolores Abernathy’s (Evan Rachel Wood) storyline unfolding next season. Aside from the Man in Black reveal, the other shocker during the season finale is that Dolores is actually the villain named Wyatt whom other hosts were terrified of. “The writers have told me that they know this story very well. I’m mostly invested in Dolores, cause I think she stands for so many things,” he said.

Wood told Entertainment Weekly earlier that Dolores will be quite different next season, and it’s all because of the revelation she learned during the season finale. “I’m really curious to see the unleashed version of her that we caught a glimpse of at the very end of the finale,” she said. “Those final seconds, I think we were seeing a completely different side to her, completely different programming and completely off of her leash, so I don’t think she will be the same person; she’ll be an evolved version.”

“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in 2018.
