The hosts of Westworld are finally turning the tables on park guests. HBO

The tables have finally turned in “Westworld” Season 2 now that the hosts are the ones going on a killing rampage against the park guests.

In a chilling new trailer provided by HBO during Comic-Con on Saturday, fans got a preview of what’s in store for next season. The trailer showed the immediate aftermath of Dolores Abernathy’s (Evan Rachel Wood) attack on Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins) and the rest of the park guests.

Bernard Lowe (Jeffrey Wright) was seen staring down at a dead tiger, while Maeve Millay (Thandie Newton) and Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman) looked around at what’s left of Westworld operations (nothing much, it appears).

Dolores was next seen riding a horse and chasing angrily after three unknown persons, most likely park guests, together with a fellow host. A brief scene showed Ashley Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth) riding a vehicle with Lowe at the back. What they’re planning to do, however, remains unclear. Lastly, the Man in Black (Ed Harris), whose face is smeared with blood, puts on his hat and surveys the area with what appears to be a smirk. All these happened while Sammy Davis Jr.’s “I’ve Gotta Be Me” plays in the background.

There will be some exciting new character additions next season. One of them is Major Craddock (Jonathan Tucker), and according to Entertainment Weekly, he will be “a commanding military officer in the second season of Westworld.”

He will be joined by Katja Herbers, who will be playing a yet unnamed “seasoned guest in Westworld whose latest visit comes at the park’s darkest hour.” Meanwhile, Neil Jackson also joined the cast as “a charming, resourceful man who finds himself in uncharted territory.”

The premiere episode for next season has been named “Journey Into Night,” which is the same title Ford chose for his new narrative. This detail was teased by show creator Jonathan Nolan in a Reddit thread titled “Can we end the endless maze image posts?” Nolan joined the conversation and said, “Nope,” which was linked to an image. The image showed the script with a title partially covered by a smiley maze, so all fans can see is “Journey Into N.”

“Westworld” Season 2 premieres on HBO in 2018.
