When Evan Rachel Wood appeared on "The Tonight Show" on Monday to talk to Jimmy Fallon about HBO’s new sci-fi show “Westworld,” she was asked to discuss the challenges of playing a robot who believes she is really human.

“There’s tons of things that make it trickier,” Wood shared. “I mean you have to ask different questions as an actor. And we ended up nicknaming them ‘bot thoughts.’ Because we would have moments where I’m like, ‘Do I squint in the sun? Am I affected by this? Is this part of my programming?’ So we would always have to stop and go ‘Ah, I got a bot thought. Is this analysis mode? Or character? Where am I right now?”

Wood also teased that the next episode, entitled “Contrapasso,” will take the show up a notch because her character Dolores Abernathy is venturing beyond her script as she travels with William (Jimmi Simpson) and Logan (Ben Barnes).

At the same time, she is finally ditching the programming that tells her she’s not allowed to question her reality.

The episode synopsis which is shared by IMDb reads: “Dolores, William and Logan reach Pariah, a town built on decadence and transgression, and are recruited for a dangerous mission. The Man in Black meets an unlikely ally in his search to unlock the maze.”

As for the trailer for the next episode, the focus is on Dr. Robert Ford (Anthony Hopkins). He is seen questioning Dolores again. “Have you been dreaming again, Dolores? Imagining yourself breaking out of your…loop?” he asks in the clip.

Another scene is featured showing Ford talking to the Man in Black. “Have you made a worthy adversary? Someone to stop me from finding the center of the maze?” the Man in Black asks.

Curious, Ford questions him back, “What is it you’re hoping to find there?”

“Something true,” he answers.

“Westworld” airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
