K-Pop star Heize, real name Jang Da-hye, collapsed after performing on stage at the SBS Gayo Daejun awards show in South Korea on Monday and was immediately taken to the hospital.

“It seems that Heize’s extremely busy schedule may have taken a toll on her health,” a spokesperson for the rapper told Metro in a statement. “Based on her diagnosis at the hospital, it has been decided that she will undergo surgery.”

What type of surgery she’s to have has not yet been revealed, but before she was hospitalized, Heize was dealing with a sore throat, though she still managed to perform at the event.

The SBS Gayo Daejun show is a major year-end program that started in 1997 and this year’s theme focused on artists who had placed number one on the charts, including Heize. Other artist who performed at the event were EXO, BTS, Wanna One, Red Velvet, Black Pink, IU and more.

IU also co-hosted the ceremony, which was held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Gocheok-dong, Seoul, South Korea, with Yoo Hee-yeol.

Though Heize made it through her performance at the IU-hosted event, she won’t be able to participate in any of the plans she had scheduled for the coming days.

“For now, her progress must be observed, and it appears that she will be unable to move forward with her plans and scheduled activities for the immediate future,” Heize’s spokesperson said.

More news will surely come as the rapper undergoes surgery and after, as she recovers from the whole ordeal.

This news comes only a week after the death of fellow K-pop star Kim Jonghyun, the lead singer of SHINee, who was pronounced dead at a hospital on Dec. 18 after being found unconscious from what police officials believe might have been a suicide. A three-day funeral began on Dec. 19 and his group members were present at the memorial.
