Many families gather around the television on Christmas Day, even the royal family. It seems Queen Elizabeth II has a special holiday tradition that Meghan Markle might need a little help understanding.

Some watch “A Christmas Story,” some love the annual “Doctor Who” special, but the Queen, however, loves her stories. She’ll be watching her favorite soap opera on Dec. 25, “EastEnders,” according to The Sun.

An anonymous source told the outlet that the Queen watches the soap every Christmas “without fail,” and this year will be no different. However, family members are already joking about Meghan Markle having trouble understanding the British show’s dialogue.

“Obviously a couple of jokes have already been made about switching on the subtitles this year,” the source claimed. “Meghan’s not too familiar with rhyming slang, so it promises to be a rather bemusing night.”

“EastEnders” doesn’t air until 9:15 p.m. GMT, so the pregnant Duchess of Sussex has a full day before settling down for the soap. The royal family typically attends a church service at St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham in Norfolk, England before exchanging gifts at teatime.

Many expect Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland to attend the Christmas festivities. Although Kate Middleton’s family doesn’t usually score an invite to Christmas with the Queen, an exception might be made for Doria due to the fact that she and Meghan have a small family. The Queen also reportedly wants to use the invite to show that she respects Prince Harry’s wife.
