Gianna Martello has seen it all. Since the dawn of “Dance Moms” in 2011, the Pittsburgh native has been coach Abby Lee Miller’s right-hand woman choreographing routines and managing the mom drama.

Now, almost six years after the hit series premiered on Lifetime, Gianna tells International Business Times exactly what happened behind-the-scenes.

While the ALDC (Abby Lee Dance Company) moms may complain about Abby’s unique teaching skills featured on the series, Gianna says she and the longtime professional, whom she has been working for since she was 16, have a great relationship on and off-camera.

“We see eye-to-eye. I’ve worked with her so long that I feel I can read her mind,” Gianna told IBT when asked about the pressures of working alongside Abby. “Sometimes she won’t like a step and I change it. At the end of the day, it’s her dance company.”

While Gianna has high hopes she’ll see the series to its completion, she does admit the show can be stressful at times. “I have been with ‘Dance Moms’ since day one and I’m hopefully going to make it to the end. I don’t regret the show one bit,” she said. “It’s definitely had its ups and downs and I’ve had my good days and bad days but I’ve definitely learned so much about myself as a person as well as a choreographer and I wouldn't change it for anything.”

If her time on “Dance Moms” does come to the end – as of publication Abby had been replaced as choreographer by “Dancing With the Stars” alum Cheryl Burke – Gianna says she still sees herself teaching at ALDC while also pursing her other dreams.

Outside of the show, Gianna has a love other than dance. She is currently dating an unnamed member of the “Dance Moms” production crew.

If “Dance Moms” were to end, Gianna has an ideal conclusion in mind for the reality program. “Happily ever after!” she said. “But that’s no fun to watch…”
