Harrison Ford was once nearly killed by actor Garrett Wang in 1994 when he nearly ran-over the “Star Wars” actor in a parking lot.

Wang was just a novice actor at the time and Ford had already become a household name, thanks to the success of the “Star Wars” franchise.

Wang recalled the incident on his new The Delta Flyers podcast, saying the incident would have made him “hated by nerds everywhere.” The “Star Trek: Voyager” actor was speeding around the Paramount Studios parking lot when he nearly ran-over Ford, who was there for the “Clear and Present Danger” screening.

“I come around this one bend, and this guy in a suit walks between two cars right in front of my car, so I slam on my brakes. You know when you almost have an accident; your heart is beating a thousand miles a minute? I lock eyes with this dude in the suit, and it’s Harrison Ford!” he said.

Wang said Ford would have become crippled, had he not slammed the brakes. While Ford escaped unhurt, this is not the first time the 77-year-old actor has had close encounters with death. Ford is an avid vintage plane collector, and he started taking flying lessons at the age of 52. He has been involved in a number of crashes over the years.

In April this year, Ford had a runway incident that had him crossing paths with another aircraft that was trying to land. This comes nearly five years after his airplane crash-landed on a golf course after his plane's engine failed. The actor was hospitalized after suffering head injuries and a broken arm.

In 1999, Ford crash-landed a helicopter while flying along the Lake Piru riverbed, north-east of Los Angeles, during a training session. The following year, he was forced to perform an emergency landing in a Beechcraft Bonanza at Nebraska's Lincoln Municipal Airport.

On the ground, too, the “Indiana Jones” actor has been prone to injuries. While filming “Star Wars: Episode VII,” Ford required medical help after the door of Solo's Millennium Falcon spacecraft fell and broke his leg.
