Richard Wershe Jr., also known as "White Boy Rick," allegedly attacked his girlfriend during an argument that began with him saying another woman's name in bed.

The former drug dealer and undercover FBI informant, whose life inspired the Matthew McConaughey-starring movie called "White Boy Rick," was arrested Tuesday for punching his girlfriend at his condominium in Miami, Florida.

The Michigan native got into an argument with his girlfriend of four months while they were having sex, police said. The altercation began with Wershe saying another woman's name in bed, prompting the girlfriend to move away from him, according to the New York Post.

As the woman tried to get out of bed, Wershe grabbed her left arm forcefully and snatched a diamond bracelet and necklace that he had given her. She pulled away and threw a shoe at him but missed.

Wershe then caught up with her and punched her in front of an unidentified witness, who told police about seeing Wershe punch the woman in her chest, according to WPLG Local 10.

The police report said Wershe punched her in the "left breast area causing a bruise."

The girlfriend told investigators that the attack took place on May 6, 2023. But she did not immediately report the incident to police because she was concerned about her immigration status.

Police officers searched Wershe and found him having nearly $11,000 in cash, the keys to a Lamborghini, a gold Rolex watch, two gold chains, and a set of AirPods, the Miami Police Department said in the arrest report.

Wershe was charged with felony robbery by sudden snatching and a misdemeanor battery charge. He was released Wednesday from the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a bond of $5,000.

Wershe's life has been the subject of a number of documentaries and the feature film "White Boy Rick." He became the youngest informant for the FBI at the age of 14 and contributed to the convictions of a number of big drug dealers in Detroit. He was found with 9,000 grams of cocaine and around $30,000 cash in 1987 in Detroit.

He spent several decades behind bars before being released from prison in July 2020.
