The NFL playoffs are down to its version of the Final Four, and there's a new Super Bowl favorite.

The Philadelphia Eagles now own the best odds at multiple sportsbooks, leapfrogging the previously favored Kansas City Chiefs.

The Eagles are favored to win the Super Bowl, according to DraftKings Sportsbook, with +250 odds. Nick Sirianni's squad is slightly ahead of the Chiefs, who are listed at +260 odds. It's a similar story at BetMGM, which gives Philadelphia +260 odds to win the championship and Kansas City +270 odds.

The Chiefs were the Super Bowl favorites in the first two rounds of the playoffs. Kansas City had a bye on Wild-Card Weekend and defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars, 27-20, in a divisional playoff matchup that was more one-sided than the final score indicates.

Why are the Eagles given a better chance than the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl?

Patrick Mahomes' health might be the overriding factor. Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain early in Kansas City's win over Jacksonville. The five-time Pro Bowl quarterback missed most of the second quarter before returning for the entirety of the second half.

Mahomes finished with impressive numbers. The likely MVP went 22-of-30 for 195 yards, two touchdowns and a 112.5 passer rating. Mahomes is expected to play Sunday when the Chiefs host the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.

But Mahomes was clearly not 100% after getting hurt. The 27-year-old appeared to lose much of his mobility, which is a big part of why he is considered to be the game's best offensive player.

The Chiefs are 1-point favorites over the Bengals. The Eagles are favored by close to a field goal over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. Given the best chance to make the Super Bowl, it makes sense that Philadelphia is the title favorite.

Mahomes' injury notwithstanding, the Chiefs may have trouble outlasting the Bengals. Cincinnati upset Kansas City on the road last year with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line. The Bengals beat the Chiefs again in the 2022 regular season, giving Cincinnati a 3-0 record against Kansas City over the last 12 months.

The Bengals have +270 Super Bowl odds at BetMGM and +275 championship odds at DraftKings. The 49ers are viewed as the clear fourth contender, with no better than +300 odds at either sportsbook.

San Francisco brings a 12-game winning streak into Philadelphia. The 49ers eked out a close 19-12 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional playoffs. The Eagles routed the New York Giants 38-7 and will remain at home for the conference championship game

The Eagles are 15-1 when quarterback Jalen Hurts started this season. Unlike Mahomes, Hurts' recent injury didn't appear to affect him in the divisional round.

The Chiefs are 2-2 in AFC Championship Games since 2018. The Eagles won in their last NFC Championship appearance, defeating the Minnesota Vikings in 2017, 38-7.
