Candace Cameron Bure’s appearances on ABC’s “The View” have been scarce as of late due to other commitments, but the “Fuller House” star made her return to the daytime talk show Thursday with a surprise announcement.

“I’m very happy to be back,” Bure said. “It’s a little bittersweet for me today because I’m announcing that I will be leaving ‘The View,’” Bure continued, holding back tears. As expected, Bure’s reason for leaving the show has to do with other projects she has.

“It wasn’t an easy decision but before I started ‘The View,’ I had already had my commitments to ‘Fuller House’ and my work with the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies and Mysteries,” Bure told the audience of the ABC talk show.

The “Fuller House” star explained that as her other projects have become more successful, it led to greater commitments. Bure also said her weekly West to East Coast commute has been tough on her and her family.

Bure may not be the only regular to leave the long-running series. In September, Whoopi Goldberg, who has co-hosted since 2007, told Wendy Williams the latest season may be her last. “I have to [move on], baby, because I have to go and grow. I got stuff to do, I got movies I need to direct, I got books I got to finish,” she told Williams.

The next season of “The View” will also be without Raven-Symoné, who announced her departure in October. With the revival of Disney’s “That’s So Raven,” Raven-Symoné revealed her decision to leave. “I’m going to be leaving before the year’s up,” she said.

The actress will be moving back to Los Angeles to focus on the show where she will also serve as executive producer on the series. Raven-Symoné called her time on the show, “multi-dimensional.”
