Fans have been wondering why they decided they would end their popular show after the upcoming fifth season on HGTV. Now, a new report indicates just why Chip and Joanna Gaines have decided to call it quits on "Fixer Upper."

According to Us Weekly, the reality stars and entrepreneurs decided to pull the plug on their hit series because it was becoming a safety and security issue for their family, most notably, their four children—Drake, 12, Ella, 10, Duke, 9, and Emmie, 7.

"People drive by and like to take pictures in front of their house," a source told the publication. "I think they just want to take a step back from it."

The couple initially made the shocking announcement that they were planning to end the show on Joanna's Magnolia Market blog last month, stating at the time that they were simply trying to focus on their family and their business in Waco.

"I think for a while now, we felt like Season 5 was going to be our final for this chapter," Joanna said. "We started out as business owners. Our beautiful business here in Waco needs our attention. We need to pour into that as much as we can. We are a family. Our beautiful children are growing up so quickly. Drake is almost a teenager. So I think the idea that we get to kind of step back and just get kind of fresh with vision, get some rest but also just hunker down with our kiddos. [This] is something we're excited about but sad that this chapter in our lives us coming to an end."

The couple also made sure to dispel rumors that had cropped up that they were ending the show for a number of other reasons, including reports that Joanna was starting up a new skincare products line, as well as rumors that their marriage was in trouble.

In fact, the pair have also since revealed some of the keys that they think keep their marriage strong, with Joanna telling People Magazine shortly after their announcement that a big part of what kept their marriage strong was sticking to certain weekly rituals, like a date night once a week, and morning coffee together.

"Marriage requires effort and time and talking and connecting," she said. "You have to maintain it."

The pair's business has grown over the years, since their marriage in 2003. Their Magnolia Market store was their initial focus, before they closed it to focus more on their construction one, Magnolia Homes, which led to their success with their show. They have since re-opened Magnolia Market into a store which also includes a food truck park and on-site bakery, and have also written books.

However, even after the show ends, it won't be the last fans will see of the famous couple. In addition to checking out the brick and mortar Magnolia location or shopping online on their website, the couple is launching a new home goods line at Target stores across the country in November. The brand, Hearth & Hand with Magnolia, is set to have items in an affordable price range from $0.99 to $129.99, though Target announced that the majority of the line would in fact be under $30.
