Queen Elizabeth II plans to follow Britain’s restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic, but doing so may force her to leave Prince William and Kate Middleton out of her Christmas plans.

Due to the ages of the couple’s three children, Prince George, 7, Prince Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, there is some concern about the risks they pose to Queen Elizabeth.

Due to the older children’s interaction with classmates, there has been some discussion about whether to allow the kids to come in contact with the 94-year-old, The Telegraph reports.

“[The family] will sort it out between them; it will be about what’s practical,” a source told the outlet.

Buckingham Palace physicians are expected to advise Queen Elizabeth on the best plan for the holidays while taking her and Prince Philip’s well-being into account.

During the Christmas break from Dec. 23 to Dec. 27, three households are expected to come together to form a “bubble.” During that time, the families will agree to avoid physical interactions with those outside of the “bubble.”

With the tight restrictions and guidelines in place, the Cambridges may skip Christmas with Queen Elizabeth to visit Kate’s parent’s Carole and Michael Middleton for the holidays.

However, it doesn’t mean Queen Elizabeth won’t see the rest of the royal family. Since Britain allows organized outdoor sports, up to 30 members of the royal family can attend the annual pheasant hunt on Christmas day.

“If they go to Sandringham, their traditional Boxing Day shoot could still take place, enabling them to see members of the family unable to join them on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day,” a source told The Daily Mail.
