Prince Harry and Prince William still haven't put their issues behind them despite having reunited since the former's departure from royal life, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex met for the first time in over a year at their grandfather Prince Philip's funeral in the U.K. in April. They reunited once more in July for the unveiling of their mom Princess Diana's statue in London's Kensington Palace.

Despite this, royal correspondent and biographer Omid Scobie told Entertainment Tonight that the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William is "still very much one of distance."

"I don't just mean physical [distance], across the Atlantic, but they are not talking that much, and that is exactly how sources close to William have put it," he claimed.

The "Finding Freedom" author further claimed that there are "still feelings of anger" toward Prince Harry and Markle over "the way the couple carried out their departure from their royal lives," and the future king "has not been able to come to terms with [the experience] yet."

Scobie also suggested that the brothers' most recent public appearances together were testaments to their ability to put aside personal grievances for the sake of a bigger cause.

"Both sides are able to put everything to one side when it comes to focusing on the bigger, more important moments -- whether that is, of course, remembering the life of Prince Philip, next year’s Royal Jubilee [or] most importantly to the brothers, remembering and honoring the life and legacy of their mother," he added.

But the royal author claimed that these instances have not resulted in "any sort of bigger movement" and the two brothers have not been in regular communication since. "I think they remain on these very different paths," Scobie added.

Scobie then suggested that people are "not going to see much change" in the coming months in terms of reconciliation, describing the royal siblings as "very different men."

"William has certainly become someone who is really living his life for the crown, for the institution," he explained. "Harry has really sort of gone completely in the opposite direction."

However, Stewart Pearce, the author of "Diana: The Voice of Change" and the late Princess of Wales' former voice coach, had a different take on the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry. He told Us Weekly last month that the brothers and their wives have been "talking by Zoom [and by] FaceTime" and are "very close with one another."

He also noted that while Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are "very different" from Prince William and Kate Middleton, they all respect each other's differences.

"Their lens on the world is highly individualized. And what’s remarkable is that they all totally respect [each other], but this lens is different," Pearce added.
