Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced a lot of criticism when it was announced they would not reveal the identities of their son, Archie Harrison’s, godparents after his baptism. However, one royal expert claims they have figured out and solved the mystery when it comes to the identity of one of the women who is serving as Godmother to the youngest member of the royal family.

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, who discussed the launch of Meghan Markle’s capstone collection with Smartworks with Entertainment Tonight, recalled who she saw at the launch, revealing that one of baby Archie’s godparents was in attendance at the event, though her identity likely won’t be confirmed by the royals anytime soon.

“I was there at the launch and spotted in the audience Isabel May,” Nicholl said (via Express UK). “Who is in fact Archie’s Godmother although that’s been kept very, very quiet. She’s a great friend of the Duchess’ and of course she would have known all about this launch.”

It was previously reported that May, the former director of communications for Burberry, had been selected as one of the godparents for baby Archie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex came under fire when they didn’t release the identities of Archie’s godparents, which bucked with royal tradition. However, in the runup to their son’s Christening, it was also reported that Prince Harry’s picks were being rejected by his wife, as he was picking friends who she was keen on him distancing himself from.

However, it is believed that among the godparents, Prince Harry likely gave a nod to his mother, Princess Diana, by including some of her relatives, and it was believed Markle would include some of her friends.

“Meghan has lots of close friends from her days as an actress, but also in Canada and America. It’ll be very interesting to see the split,” a royal source said at the time. “I do think we’ll see something from Harry’s side with Diana, I think we’ll see some of her friends and some of the people who looked after him when he was young. But there’ll definitely be a nod to the royals as well.”
