Camilla Parker Bowles will one day become queen when Prince Charles is crowned king, but some royal fans are wondering if she will have access to all crown jewels and tiaras owned by Queen Elizabeth II when she assumes the important role.

On the online forum site Quora, Margaret Shannon said that she doesn’t think all crown jewels and tiaras may be used by Camilla even when she is Queen because she will never be sovereign. According to the royal fan, some tiaras and crown jewels are personally owned by Her Majesty. Other jewelry belongs to The Crown.

“I expect that while the Queen could legally leave this jewel to anybody, it will remain within the direct line of inheritance. She may choose to leave it to The Crown,” she wrote.

Leslie Martin, another royal fan said that crown jewels are typically worn on state occasions by the king and the queen consort. Martin is convinced that Camilla won’t be called queen or queen consort because she was already given the title princess consort by The Firm.

“The Duchess of Cornwall was previously married and divorced. The rules of succession as of today have not changed… A divorced woman could not be Queen Consort,” she wrote.

Karen Beasley added that it is only the monarch that is allowed to wear the Imperial Crown and the St. Edward Crown. This means that even if Camilla will be named Queen or Queen Consort, she won’t be able to wear all crown jewels and tiaras because she is not the head of the monarchy.

Meanwhile, Sim Hedges said that he thinks Camilla would have access to all crown jewels and tiaras. However, Prince Charles’ wife won’t be allowed to dispose of or keep the jewels. Camilla might not also be allowed to use all jewels and tiaras because they are reserved for the reigning monarch, which will never be her role.
