Fans of the movie “Love, Simon” may have already binge-watched all episodes of Hulu’s “Love, Victor,” and they know the story isn’t complete. That cliffhanger ending indicates that the writers want to be renewed for Season 2, but will the series avoid being canceled?

Hulu has not made a decision yet, but it’s highly likely that Hulu will renew “Love, Victor” for Season 2. Hulu ordered the writers room to start exploring Season 2 possibilities in February, indicating that the streamer is pleased with the series. As long as the coming-of-age show pulls in a substantial audience, it seems like a renewal will come soon.

Executive producer Brian Tanen confirmed that the writers are working on the first episodes of “Love, Victor” Season 2, but they don’t know much about the future at this point. “We’re a little bit up in the air as to when this might go back into production, but we’re hard at work coming up with new stories for the show and we are very optimistic for the future,” he told Gay Times.

Tanen revealed that Season 2 will find Victor (Michael Cimino) exploring his sexuality now that he has come out. “One of the great things about Season 2 is, if your Season 1 journey is about coming to terms with, and discovering who you are, then the next part of the journey is about first experiences, and first crushes, and first relationships – all these incredibly exciting feelings that are so intensified because you’re finally being your authentic self," he told Digital Spy.

Of course, that’s not all that Season 2 will deal with. Several storylines left viewers wanting more. Obviously, the first season “Love, Victor” finale ends with Victor coming out to his parents, but their reaction isn’t shown. However, that’s not the only storyline that will be picked up in next year’s possible episodes.

“There are a number of, quote, ‘cliffhangers’ for all of our characters. We see that Felix is dealing with problems at home. We see that Mia and Andrew may take a step towards one another. We see that Victor's parents are having their own major marital decision,” Tanen explained. “There's so much to follow up on. We're finding Season 2 to be a very rich area for stories.”

Fans will have to wait and see if Hulu officially renews “Love, Victor” soon.
