  • Fans showed concern after Wiz Khalifa contracted coronavirus
  • Some Twitter users recalled Khalifa's last year tweet mocking masks
  • The rapper will be featured in a biographical movie "Spinning Gold"

Rapper Wiz Khalifa took to Twitter on Thursday to announce that he has contracted COVID-19, adding he doesn't have any symptoms.

The rapper urged everyone to "stay away" from him till he fully recovers.

"Okay loved ones... sooo... Ya boy got COVID. No symptoms," the 33-year-old rapper tweeted. "Just stay away from me for a lil while."

Fans immediately took to the comments section to share their concern.

One of the fans commented, "Boil some ginger and lemon. Add honey and add a little turmeric drink it like tea. Rest and soup for 3 maybe 4days. That’s what I did and then I got up started doing my regular activity and I was fine. Oh I prayed a lot too."

Considering the rapper is asymptomatic, another fan wrote, "Doesn’t mean you won’t get long haul symptoms later. Best to vaccinate." Another user urged the rapper to inform everyone, whom he met in the last few days, "You know you can spread the virus being asymptomatic. It’s important that you inform all those you came in contact with. That includes incidental contacts like when you went shopping, eating at restaurants, etc."

Some Twitter users also recalled Khalifa's 2020 tweet, which suggested that he is done wearing the mask. A user commented, "We were staying away when we saw you mocking people with masks... don't worry we're still gonna stay way..."

However, even after testing positive for the virus, the rapper assured his fans that he will be giving them new content.

The rapper tweeted, "While I'm in the house I’ll be giving y’all new content, planning raves, and readying this new project."

Khalifa is not the only celebrity who contracted COVID-19. In March, Lauren Alaina, 26, also took to Twitter to announce that her upcoming show has been canceled after she tested positive for COVID.

"I am so sad to say I will not be at the acoustic show in Lexington, Kentucky tonight," she wrote at the time. "I tested positive for COVID yesterday. I am quarantining and trying to get better! Please know I can't wait to be back - when it is safe for all of us."

Celebrities including Nick Cannon, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Dave Chappelle, Liv Tyler, Larry King, David and Victoria Beckham, and Robert Pattinson had also contracted the virus.

On the work front, Khalifa will feature in a biographical movie, "Spinning Gold," which is helmed by Timothy Scott Bogart. The movie is currently under post-production.
