A 21-year-old woman in Brazil was forced to dig her own grave by her murderers, who then fatally shot her and buried her body in it, police said Tuesday.

The woman, identified as Amanda Albach, lived in Fazenda Rio Grande. She reportedly traveled to Santa Catarina on Nov. 15 to attend a friend’s birthday party.

At the party, the woman noticed a few people supplying drugs and took their photos. One of them realized that she had told a few people about drug trafficking and decided to kill her.

"He did not like this situation and therefore decided to take her life," Police chief Bruno Fernandes said, News.com.au reported.

The same night, the woman sent an audio message to her parents saying that she would return home at dawn. However, when she did not return home, her worried family members called her a number of times but couldn’t reach her.

"She sent a message to her parents, around 8.40 pm, saying that she would return to Fazenda Rio Grande at dawn. Since then, there has been no more news of her. The cell phone is off and Amanda never accessed WhatsApp again," the victim’s family’s lawyer, Michael Pinheiro, said, New York Post reported.

The family members then informed the police about it following which a search was launched.

As part of the investigation, the cops spoke to all those who were present at the party.

"These friends of hers said they left the party and had not seen her again," the lawyer said.

However, cops found inconsistencies in the statements, which raised suspicions regarding the involvement of people at the party in her disappearance.

They caught a drug dealer, who was present at the present. During interrogation, he confessed to killing the woman. He said that after the party, he and his accomplices forced her to dig her own grave, then shot her. They then buried her body and fled the scene.

Following his confession, his two accomplices were taken into custody and the three then told the police where the body was buried. Cops then found the woman’s body buried on the beach of Irapiruba Norte de Laguna. It remained unclear if the accused had been charged in connection with the murder.
