A 37-year-old Tennessee woman is accused of fatally shooting her husband during a family house party three months ago.

Evanny Ricchay Littlejohn was formally charged with first-degree murder for allegedly pulling out a gun and shooting her husband, 41-year-old Kanrell Littlejohn, at a home in Memphis on Sept. 21, Fox 13 reported, citing Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich.

The incident occurred on the 4800 block of Applestone Cove in Whitehaven during a small party among family members, the district attorney said.

Littlejohn, her husband and their family members were singing karaoke and drinking when an argument suddenly broke out, according to Weirich. It was not clear why the family members argued and who exactly were involved.

Witnesses told police that Littlejohn then pulled out a pistol and shot her husband in the chest, the district attorney said.

The husband was rushed to the hospital after being struck but eventually succumbed to his injuries, according to Weirich’s office.

Littlejohn has been indicted for first-degree murder in the case and was given a $100,000 bond.

In others news, an Arkansas state police officer was injured and two other people died in Memphis Thursday following an exchange of gunfire during a police chase, local news outlet The Commercial Appeal reported, citing the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).

In a statement, TBI said Arkansas state police and U.S. Marshal Task Force officers from the Eastern District of Arkansas were pursuing Thursday at least one individual wanted out of South Carolina on felony warrants. The agency said the chase began in west Memphis and continued into Memphis.

At least one of the individuals in the vehicle then began firing at officers at some point during the chase.

One of the bullets struck state trooper Spencer Morris, who returned fire, TBI said. Morris hit both people in the other car, and the two men were pronounced dead at the scene.

The two people who died were identified as Terrance Dogan, 27, and John H. Taylor, 18. It was not clear who shot the state trooper.

Dogan had seven different warrants, including those for armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, pointing and presenting a firearm, burglary, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime as well as assault and battery, according to Capt. Adam Myrick of the Lexington County Sheriff's Department in South Carolina.

The other person killed, Taylor, had no records in the department.

The state trooper who was shot was treated at a local hospital and is expected to fully recover.

"As required under Arkansas State Police policy, Trooper Morris is currently on paid administrative leave while an investigation involving the use of deadly force is underway," the state police statement said.
