WWE TLC 2016 had all the elements of an entertaining pay-per-view Sunday in Dallas. The “SmackDown” event featured good matches, title changes, a major upset and even a heel turn in the main event.

As the final “SmackDown” pay-per-view of the year, TLC likely was the end of a few major feuds. Dean Ambrose might have challenged AJ Styles for the WWE World Championship for the last time, and Dolph Ziggler isn’t likely to face The Miz again anytime soon. Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss, however, are almost sure to fight at least one more time.

TLC featured seven total matches, including the pre-show.

WWE World Champion AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose (Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match)

Ambrose was about to become the new champion when the man that he’s helped so many times in the past turned on him. With the former Shield member on top of a ladder and looking to grab the belt, James Ellsworth pushed the ladder over and sent Ambrose flying through two tables on the outside of the ring. Styles’ victory sets up a title match between himself and Ellsworth Tuesday night.

Winner: AJ Styles

SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Alexa Bliss (Tables Match)

Unlike their last title match, Sunday’s result was not in dispute. Alexa defeated Becky fair and square, powerbombing the champ through a table on the outside of the ring and winning the belt for the first time. Becky had been the only wrestler to hold the SmackDown Women’s Championship before the PPV.

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Nikki Bella vs. Carmella (No Disqualification Match)

After suffering three months of beat downs by Carmella, Nikki finally got her revenge. Both women utilized a kendo stick on one another, but Nikki got the upper hand by spraying her opponent with a fire extinguisher and subsequently ending the match with the Rack Attack 2.0. After the match ended, Carmella revealed that it was Natalya who attacked Nikki from behind before the start of the women’s Survivor Series match.

Winner: Nikki Bella

Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler (Ladder Match)

In their final meeting, The Miz got the better of Ziggler, as he has for most of their feud. The champ didn’t get any help from Maryse, but instead he climbed the ladder after delivering two low blows to the challenger. The Miz cut a promo on Daniel Bryan after the match, continuing their feud that began in August.

Winner: The Miz

Kalisto vs. Baron Corbin (Chairs Match)

Kalisto did everything he could in his attempt to defeat the much bigger Corbin. Sending Corbin through a stack of chairs with a seated senton and using a chair during a moonsault, however, wasn’t enough. The Lone Wolf got the pin after hitting End of Days into a pile of chairs.

Winner: Baron Corbin

SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton

Bray and Orton made quick work of the champs, getting the victory in the shortest match on the card. Luke Harper sacrificed himself by taking a Gore outside of the ring, and the match ended when a distracted Rhyno was hit with an RKO.

Winner: Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton

Apollo Crews, American Alpha & The Hype Bros vs. Curt Hawkins, The Vaudevillains & The Ascension (Pre-Show)

Jason Jordan got the pin after hitting Grand Amplitude, continuing to make American Alpha look like legitimate threats as tag team champions in the near future.
