The time has come for a new Jabot CEO to be voted in, and after some strategic moves, a sur0rising choice will be the one who is given the job on the Thursday, Nov. 1 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Since Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) departure, the race has been on to find the new CEO of Jabot on the CBS soap, and the heated race has been between not only Jack (Peter Bergman) and Billy (Jason Thompson), but also Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), who expressed that perhaps it was time for a non-Abbott to lead the way when it came to the company. Now, with a vote amongst the board members, it will become official, and it appears Phyllis’ quest to become the head of Jabot will be successful.

“Phyllis smells victory,” Y&R spoilers tease.

Young and the Restless
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) gets a victory while Billy (Jason Thompson) suffers a defeat on the Nov. 1, 2018 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” CBS

In order to secure her position, and potentially, the votes, Phyllis managed to appeal to various members of the board in ways they couldn’t refuse. Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Traci (Beth Maitland) had seemed intrigued by the idea of someone who wasn’t family running the company for once, while Lauren (Tracey Bregman) was flattered by the fact that her friend would make sure Fenmore’s got the treatment it deserved, something she felt that had been lacking when both Jack and Billy had their prior chances at running things. However, her biggest coup was getting the woman both Jack and Billy sought as the new head of R&D to agree she’d only take the job if Phyllis was CEO.

Of course, the news that Phyllis is in charge will be alarming for the Abbott men, especially Billy, who only recently ended his relationship with her after learning she had slept with Nick (Joshua Morrow).

“Billy suffers defeat,” the spoilers reveal.

However, the bigger concern over Billy suffering from this loss will be whether or not it persuades him to once again fall back on his demons and resort to gambling again. However, he seems assured he won’t, as a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above) show him telling Phyllis he will eagerly accept a front row seat to watch her implode with her new position of power.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
