The family is in the midst of a crisis following Ashley’s departure and her decision to take all of their patents with her. Now, as the Abbott family struggles to figure out how to move on, Phyllis will make a move to try and put herself in charge on the Tuesday, Oct. 30 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Jabot has officially been left more vulnerable than ever thanks to the constant struggle between Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson), which reached its most critical point in recent weeks. Not only was Ashley’s scheme to make Jack think he wasn’t a real Abbott unveiled on the CBS soap, but Jack’s own misdeeds with trying to shred the contract that gave Ashley the right to all of the patents and products she developed for the company were also brought to light. Since then, Ashley decided she has had enough, and took the patents with her as she headed to Paris to start her own new company.

Now, the family will be forced to move on without her and figure out what their next steps will be. When it comes to who will now be in control at Jabot, however, a surprising new candidate will step forward, thanks to the Blood Abbott clause finally being reversed.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) makes a powerful move on the Oct. 30, 2018 episode of “The Young and the Restless.” The actress is pictured with Billy (Jason Thompson) in an earlier episode. CBS

“Phyllis reveals a new plan of attack,” Y&R spoilers tease.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will announce that she intends to throw her hat in the ring when it comes to the CEO job, and in a preview clip for the week’s episodes, she appears to do a good job of making a case for herself, as she explains why she thinks giving her control is the right decision to make.

Of course, not everyone will think letting Phyllis have a shot is the right move, especially since the blood Abbott clause was something that was enacted while she was married to Jack as a preventative measure to keep her from assuming control at any point. Still, she may find she has some support with her endeavor, especially when other members of the family start to wonder if letting someone who isn’t a member of the family be in charge is the only way to keep their personal lives from continuing to implode.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
