He has headed to court without an attorney after Adam successfully blackmailed Michael into getting off of the case. However, Nick could be facing losing the little boy he has raised after having no lawyer present meant he couldn’t protect himself from Adam's latest ploy on the Tuesday, July 23 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Despite losing Michael (Christan Leblanc) as an attorney as he and Adam (Marc Grossman) headed to court to battle over Christian, Nick (Joshua Morrow) was previously confident he could still win the case on the CBS soap since his brother had altered DNA test results to make it seem like Nick was the boy’s father instead years ago. However, any favor he may have had with the judge for raising the boy in a stable home went out the window after Adam played a cruel trick by getting his lawyer to expose the video of Nick in a JT (Thad Luckinbill) mask to the judge. Now, Nick is going to find himself on the defensive side as he tries to downplay what really happened when he impersonated the other man.

“Nick’s charade comes to light,” spoilers reveal.

Naturally, Nick will try and defend his actions and point out this his scheme to impersonate JT as he started Dark Horse helped eventually bring the real JT out of hiding, but the judge is likely not going to take the situation lightly, and it could be a huge blow to his arguments that he provides a stable environment and home for his son. He could also try to point out some of Adam’s other misdeeds as well to prove that he isn’t innocent either, but the damage could already be done.

Now, with that scandal possibly staining his case, Nick may be feeling less confident than ever and even more likely to strike out against his brother. What he may not realize though is that if he makes any threats, Adam could find a way to use those against him as well and win the whole case. And according to a preview clip for the week’s episodes (see above), which features Nick crying and appearing to hug Christian goodbye, Adam might just prove successful.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
