She has been dealing with a devastating breast cancer diagnosis and wants to keep the truth about what she’s dealing with limited to her closest family members only. However, following her longtime enemy getting suspicious about her secrets, Sharon may find herself gaining an unexpected supporter and confidant on the Tuesday, Feb. 4 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Sharon (Sharon Case) had her suspicions confirmed about her health after following up with doctors when she found a lump on the CBS soap, and since then, she has confided in Rey (Jordi Villasousa), Nick (Joshua Morrow), Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) about what’s going on, but has asked them all to keep the news to themselves for now because she doesn’t want to create a spectacle of her diagnosis or get pity from others. However, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) began noticing something was up and managed to get info out of Nick in regards to the fact that Sharon was ill. Now, she will learn more details when Sharon herself accidentally reveals the news.

“Sharon confides in someone unexpected,” spoilers reveal.

Naturally, Phyllis will be stunned when she realizes that Sharon is fighting cancer, and despite their contentious history, which has always surrounded their back and forth about Nick, she will try to encourage Sharon and make her aware that she will be there to support her. However, Sharon will insist the woman still treat her as she normally would, so Phyllis will once again make a snarky comment, which may be just what Sharon needs.

Of course, even if Phyllis is still snarky around her—and even makes similar comments to Nick in regards to her, it will be the way that everyone knows she is actually putting their differences aside-making sure that they know she is there for the other woman, despite their history. This could allow them both to turn over a new leaf when it comes to their long-standing battles, but overall, it may be the kind of support Sharon needs most as she deals with her struggles, since it’s the kind she least expects.

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS.
