A Russian social media star assaulted a model during a YouTube livestream, leaving the woman with facial injuries. The incident took place during a social media party.

In the YouTube livestream, which was broadcasted to his 680,000 subscribers, Andrey Burim, known more widely as Mellstroy, was seen violently beating up the model, 21-year-old Alena Efremova and smashing her head onto a desk while the other guests at the party continued to talk. The model was seen bleeding from her mouth. She sustained facial injuries in the attack.

"Mellstroy beat me up last night and publicly humiliated me in his stream. I just want him to be punished for this so it will not happen to any (other) person. There is a bloody mess of iron in my mouth, blood and pieces of torn skin. I am deeply distressed, my limbs are shaking, my head is splitting with any movement," Efremova said in a social media post, Daily Mail reported.

Meanwhile, after the video of the attack went viral, several people, including well-known activists, have called for Burim to be blocked from YouTube.

Russian police were investigating the incident and the circumstances that led to the attack were not known.

Meanwhile, speaking to Moscow 24, Lawyer Victoria Danilchenko said Burim could be charged with "deliberately causing minor harm to health." However, he could face more serious charges depending on the severity of the victim’s injuries

"If, according to the results of a medical examination, harm of moderate severity or serious harm is established, then more severe articles of the Criminal Code can be applied. It is noteworthy that in this story the young man simplified the work of law enforcement officers by broadcasting the beating live. This recording can help in determining the qualification of the act. in the process of inquiry, as well as to become evidence in court," Danilchenko told the outlet.
