At the 2011 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles Wednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks were the big winner. The NBA team took home four of the ESPN prizes, including best team, Best Male Athlete and Best NBA Player (both Dirk Nowitzki) and Rick Carlisle won best Coach/Manager.
I'm so humbled and honored by this, Nowitzki said. It's been an unreal year for all of us on the Mavericks.
The Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award show was hosted by Saturday Night Live head-writer Seth Meyers, and saw a mix of sports stars and regular stars, like singer Justin Bieber and actor Ryan Reynolds.
There were many excited winners in L.A., including Packer quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who won Best NFL Player.
Other winners included Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Roy Halladay, who won for Best MLB Player and Best Moment.
Jimmie Johnson won Best Driver, and Manny Pacquiao won Best Fighter.
Phoenix Mercury's Diana Taurasi won Best WNBA Player.
Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams won Best Male and Best Female Tennis Player, respectively.
