An infant in Ohio has died after her family dog was reportedly found resting on top of her.

Raelynn Larrison of Dayton was rushed to Dayton Children’s Hospital on Thursday night after the 4-month-old child was found to be not breathing by her father, the Dayton Daily News reported, citing the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Dispatchers were sent to the home after the man called 911 saying he woke up to find the dog lying on top of his baby. The unidentified man said the child was unconscious, the Dayton Daily News reported.

“She’s not breathing. My baby ain’t breathing,” a man told the dispatcher, the outlet reported.

Authorities did not mention the breed of the dog, but a neighbor told local media the canine was "big" and had gotten out of the family's home before.

“God bless that child and I just hope they get that dog taken care of one way or the other so it won't injure anyone else," neighbor Lonnie Dapier told media outlet WRGT.

Police said the incident is under investigation, and the child's body has been sent for an autopsy. The cause of death has not been revealed, the Dayton Daily News reported.

A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for Larrison’s funeral.

“We lost our beautiful four-month-niece,” the page read. “Please help in any way you possibly can so that we can lay this beautiful girl to rest.”

In October, an 18-month-old girl died after she accidentally choked on a plastic toy. The incident took place in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The girl was eating the snack when she found the small plastic toy inside. She tried to swallow the toy, which got stuck in her throat cavity, and she was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead.

“We can’t blame anyone for the death of the girl. It was an unfortunate incident. A case under Section 174 of CrPC (suspicious death) was registered and the investigation is on,” police said at the time.
