As the world continues to strive for equality for all, networks and streaming services are doing more than just looking towards a better future, they are also taking a look into the past.

One of those companies is the Comcast-owned Sky. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the company has announced that it will be adding disclaimers to some of the films available on its Sky Cinema platform because of "outdated attitudes, language and cultural depiction, which may cause offense today."

"Sky is committed to supporting anti-racism and improving diversity and inclusion both on and off-screen," a representative for the company said. "We constantly review all content on Sky’s owned channels and will take action where necessary including adding additional information for our customer to allow them to make an informed decision when deciding what films and TV shows to watch."

Prior to Sky's announcement, the streaming service HBO Max revealed on June 9 that it would temporarily be removing the 1939 classic film "Gone With the Wind" from its expansive catalog.

"'Gone With The Wind' is a product of its time and depicts some of the ethnic and racial prejudices that have, unfortunately, been commonplace in American society. These racist depictions were wrong then and are wrong today, and we felt that to keep this title up without an explanation and a denouncement of those depictions would be irresponsible," an HBO Max spokesperson told Variety at the time.

"These depictions are certainly counter to WarnerMedia’s values, so when we return the film to HBO Max, it will return with a discussion of its historical context and a denouncement of those very depictions, but will be presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. If we are to create a more just, equitable and inclusive future, we must first acknowledge and understand our history."

While it will likely take some time for these companies to comb through their libraries and determine which works warrant a disclaimer, here are six films that have already received the disclaimer treatment:

  • "The Jungle Book"
  • "Aladdin" (the 1992 animated version)
  • "Flash Gordon"
  • "The Last Samurai"
  • "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
  • "Gone With The Wind"

Other films that could be seen as problematic, as noted by Variety, include "Forrest Gump," "Dirty Harry," "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood," and "Me Before You."
