A man in Montgomery, Alabama, was arrested Tuesday for raping a six-year-old girl after alluring her to his bedroom.

According to the court records, the accused, identified as 51-year-old Miguel Rodriguez Tinoco, directed the girl to his bedroom after noticing that the girl’s mother was distracted. The girl followed the man up the stairs. Once in the room, the accused raped the girl. The exact date of the incident was not known, however, the victim reportedly knew the accused.

Upon noticing that the girl’s grades were dropping, her mother confronted her about the same following which the victim opened up about what had happened.

Jannah Bailey, the executive director of non-profit organization Child Protect, said, “Her mom started noticing her grades were dropping. Sometimes you can tell if a child is being molested when a child has a behavioral change. They may be very outgoing and suddenly they are very clingy.”

A police complaint was filed and during investigation, the officers found a video of the act which showed the man putting the victim on the bed before forcing her into sexual acts. The victim told the investigators that she asked him “to stop.”
