“American Horror Story” fans are dying to gather details about Season 7. Ryan Murphy, who co-created the show with Brad Falchuk, revealed that the overriding theme of the show will be political, which has raised some serious questions about who the cast will be portraying.

It’s not clear whether the characters on the show will mirror Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and other politicians tied to the 2016 election. Regardless, the cast has taken the idea and run with it. While promoting his upcoming film “Dabka,” Evan Peters was asked by The Hollywood Reporter about Sarah Paulson’s desire to play Donald Trump, revealing his own dream role in the process.

“Sarah can play anything, so she can definitely nail Trump,” the actor said. “I’d love to see her portray Trump because he has so many external things that she can really [dive into]. If Sarah can play Trump, I will play Ivanka.”

No official casting announcements have been made. On March 29, Deadline reported that Billy Eichner was cast in a mystery role opposite Sarah Paulson in “American Horror Story” Season 7. Little’s known about the role, though sources report he “will mostly be wearing mysterious tank tops.”

The lack of official casting news hasn’t stopped “American Horror Story” fans from speculating. Some believe Emma Roberts will appear in Season 7 based on a 2016 interview she did with ET Online. The actress said at the time that she wanted to appear in another season, and hoped that if she were to do so, she’d get to face off with Lady Gaga’s character.

“Last year, it just didn’t work out ‘cause I was still shooting ‘Scream Queens,’” she said at the time. “But now that ‘Scream Queens is shooting [season two] in L.A. and not New Orleans, maybe I’ll just have to walk over to the stage and force myself onto the show.”

Murphy has said very little about what’s to come in Season 7 of “American Horror Story.” During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” he revealed the theme. Murphy didn’t say whether he’d decided to model it directly after the most recent election or just borrow some aspects.

“I think it’ll be interesting for a lot of people,” Murphy said (via People).

During a call with TV Line, Murphy revealed that the upcoming season of “American Horror Story” would revisit Freak Show, from Season 4. This means that some characters and themes will be revisited in Season 7. Murphy’s yet to delve further into that comment.

He has been clear that neither he nor Falchuk plan to keep this season completely under wraps like they did with “American Horror Story” Season 6. They’ve been tight lipped on specifics thus far, but will likely share more as the premiere draws closer. Fans suspect based on the show’s summer production dates that Season 7 will debut on FX in the fall.
