‘America’s Got Talent’
Will Puddles Pity Party have a chance to redeem himself in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12? NBC

“America’s Got Talent” Season 12 will soon air its first semifinals performance, and there are speculations that another wild card may be asked to return.

Last season, 22 acts made it to the semifinals, but this year, there are only 21 acts confirmed to take the Dolby Theater stage again. According to Gold Derby, this means that there’s one act that may be asked by the judges to return. If this is the case, it would not be the first time this season that a contestant that has been booted off would return and perform again.

Singing group Final Draft and daredevil Bello Nock were invited to perform live for America’s vote. Unfortunately, both contestants did not make it through to the semifinals and were eliminated.

After three quarterfinals weeks, several fan-favorites have been sent home. During week one, Puddles Pity Party was eliminated after judge Simon Cowell gave him a red buzzer. Puddles’ rendition of Lorde’s “Royals” did not give his singing chops justice, so he was one of the four other acts that received the lowest number of votes. However, Puddles was a crowd favorite and even Cowell, who is not fond of clowns, previously expressed how much he likes him.

In week two, escape artist Demian Aditya did not manage to earn enough votes after he experienced some technical difficulties. After the rope attached to a coffin-like box got burned, the box containing Aditya should have fallen onto the huge fire. Unfortunately, when the fire burned the rope, the box did not fall, so Aditya was not able to complete his act. But since the error did not have anything to do with Aditya himself, it’s possible that he may be invited to return as a wild card.

During last week’s quarterfinals, judge Heidi Klum’s golden buzzer recipient, Angelina Green, was also sent home. She was one of the three acts who battled it out for the Dunkin Save, but she did not earn enough votes from the judges to make it through to the semifinals. Green was also the first golden buzzer recipient to be eliminated from the competition this season.

On Tuesday, fans will learn which final act will return as a wild card in “America’s Got Talent” Season 12 at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
