Anita Baker gave a shoutout to her friend Chance the Rapper during her Las Vegas show and revealed that the 29-year-old rapper helped her regain her master recordings.

"Would you guys say hello to a friend of mine by way of the music industry, by way of helping me get a hold and ownership of my master recording, Mister Chance the Rapper is right there," Baker said during her Sunday night show at the Venetian Theatre.

The audience broke into cheers and applause when Chance stood up to acknowledge the singer and the crowd.

The 64-year-old "Giving You The Best That I Got" singer engaged in a battle with her former label, Elektra, last year. She had also asked her fans not to stream her music until she regains ownership of her masters.

In March last year, Baker told her followers that she miraculously outlived all her "artists contracts" and the record company was supposed to return the ownership of her master recordings to her. However, she said the company was going to make her "fight for them."

She later tweeted that "all her children" – her first five albums, including "The Songstress (1983)," "Rapture" (1986), "Giving You The Best That I Got" (1988), "Compositions" (1990) and "Rhythm of Love" (1994) – were "coming home."

Taylor Swift congratulated the songstress for winning the fight and wrote, "What a beautiful moment, CONGRATULATIONS ANITA!!"

Baker did not say how exactly Chance helped her out of her predicament but the latter showed his appreciation for the shoutout by tweeting, "I saw one of THE greatest performances of my LIFETIME last night! Thank you so much @IAMANITABAKER for being an inspiration and an icon to so many of US."

Baker said the rapper's presence at the Vegas show was a "nice surprise" and wrote a birthday greeting for one of his friends.

The "No Problem" rapper replied, "WOW the fact that you remembered my friend's name AND that it was her birthday just echoes what an INCREDIBLE PERSON you are on top of all that you’ve given artistically. Honored and blessed to call you friend miss @IAMANITABAKER."
