Red carpets aren’t necessarily a place for big surprises, however that’s exactly what “Ant-Man” star Evangeline Lilly brought to the premiere of the newest Marvel Studios movie. The actress showed up to the movie's premiere on Monday, shocking the paparazzi and fans with her new and unexpected baby bump.

According to Us Weekly, despite starring in one of the hottest movies of the summer, Lilly was able to hide her pregnancy until she hit the Hollywood premiere of “Ant-Man." Apparently no one noticed that she hadn’t been photographed publicly since her previous red carpet appearance in December of 2014 at the premiere of “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.”

The star revealed to E! Online that she’s seven months along with her due date being sometime in September. She’s having the baby with her partner, Norman Kali, whom she met while she was working on the hit TV show “Lost.” Together they already have a 4-year-old son named Kahekili. Lilly told the outlet that her second pregnancy is going significantly smoother than her first, revealing she feels both “good” and “blissful.”

“What I wanted originally was six kids,” she told Ocean Drive in an interview in January. “I frickin’ love being pregnant. I’m one of the lucky women who just had a blissful pregnancy, but I wanted to adopt four. My partner and I have really been through the ringer in the adoption world and it’s hard, so we’ll see what happens. Life is magically beautiful, and it brings you what is perfect.”

Lilly plays Hope Van Dyne in the newest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her "Ant-Man" character, aside from being the daughter of two of Marvel Comics’ most important heroes, acts as a bit of a training mentor to Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) as he journeys from big-time thief to bigger-time superhero. “Ant-Man” hits theaters July 17.
