Leaked iPhone 12 dummies reveal that the new lineup will have a different design compared to Apple's current flagships.

A leaker named Sonny Dickson has posted images of iPhone 12 dummies on Twitter, giving consumers a glimpse at how the new devices could look like. MacRumors noted that iPhone dummy units normally appear every year, a few months before the actual devices are released.

Dummy units are often made based on CAD schematics from Apple's supply chain in China. These are often made to help case makers create cases before the devices are officially unveiled and released to the public.

The dummy units in Dickson's tweet features details that are largely similar to the ones shown in molds that a Twitter user named @jin_store released last week. All of them feature flat edges similar to the iPad Pro, regardless of their size. Unlike those molds, however, these are made to resemble the actual devices, complete with color and shiny edges.

Here's what consumers can expect from the iPhone 12 lineup's design, based on Dickson's leaked dummies:

Three sizes

The dummy units come in three sizes, corroborating previous reports about the iPhone 12 series coming in three sizes. There will be a 5.4-inch iPhone 12, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max, a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.

New camera setups

The dummies also show that the iPhone 12 series will feature upgraded camera compared to the iPhone 11 series. Dickson, however, noted that the dummies' “cameras should not be taken 100%,” indicating that they aren't accurate.

Previous reports revealed that the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Max will each have a dual rear-camera setup, while the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a triple rear-camera setup, with the addition of a LiDAR scanner similar to the one on the latest iPad Pro.

Chassis

Dickson said the chassis on the dummies are “promising,” which means the actual devices could look the same way. The volume rockers and mute switch will be on the left-hand side while the lock button is on the right-hand side. The 6.7-inch model shows the SIM card tray on the right-hand side. The photos do not show the top and bottom sides.
