Apple’s newest desktop offering, the 2019 iMac, is an impressive piece of hardware that can truly measure up to the fantastic iMac Pro.

However, some desktop enthusiasts are feeling a little underwhelmed claiming that looking at Apple’s latest computer evokes a serious case of “we’ve seen that already.” And it’s easy to understand why. The new iMac has retained the same silhouette that it has adopted for years, a shame since Apple basically gave us the idea that desk computers don’t have to be boring.

According to CNET, the 2019 iMac looks no different from the previous model and actually seems a bit clunky because of its thick screen bezels which the outlet described as “dated.” That and the tilt-only screen also doesn't offer many options for mobility, something fans should probably expect for new models. The reason for this is the Cupertino giant’s obsession with a “specific, thin-uber-alles design aesthetic.”

But that’s not to say that the iMac 2019 is no good. In fact, the company continues to amaze at how much innovation it can add in the iMac’s limited framework.

It can still cram newer and hotter functions in the tiny space while maintaining a flawless performance. It has upgraded eighth- and ninth-gen Intel Core CPUs and new AMD Radeon GPUs.

One model also boasts of a ninth-gen Core i9 processor and Radeon Pro Vega graphics which, suffice to say, make it a really powerful tool for people in the visual industry. The graphics is so good that we won’t be surprised if people start switching from the iMac Pro to the iMac 2019 since the 5k screen is truly something to behold.

And at a price point that’s basically similar to its predecessor, what’s not to love about the new 2019 iMac?

Well, CNET pointed out some things starting with the fact that the computer’s SD card slot still can’t support UHS-II and still has all the messy connectors at the back that make the computer seem like an old model. The tilting function is also not enough to remove the glare from the glossy surface and the sound system’s location still needs improvement.

All in all, the 2019 iMac is a great graphics tool. Some analysts, however, believe that it’s more convenient and even relatively cheaper to just upgrade your existing iMac Pro.
