Ariana Grande and Florence Pugh are showcasing the power that comes from women supporting women.

After listening to Pugh’s emotional video message to fans about the hate she’d received from her recent Instagram post for her boyfriend Zach Braff’s birthday, Grande decided to share her own words of encouragement in her recently deleted Instagram story.

“Sharing personal life things that make you happy on the internet can be truly traumatic,” Grande wrote, according to BuzzFeed. “I know I’ve taken a step back from doing so to protect my loved ones and myself but I just wanted to share this and let you know how perfectly u expressed this and how appreciated u are for doing so.”

The 26-year-old singer isn’t kidding about empathizing with Pugh. Her relationships have also been a hot topic of discussion and debate, primarily her 2019 hit single and subsequent album, “thank u, next” where she explicitly named most of her exes. She also mentioned her highly-publicized engagement to Pete Davidson which, after one month of dating, fueled plenty of criticism.

Pugh, however, has been dating Zach Braff publicly since October 2019, according to Elle, although it is speculated they have been romantically linked since Pugh first starred in his short film, “In the Time It Takes to Get There” in April 2019.

As Pugh’s fame has risen thanks to her roles in “Midsommar,” “Little Women” and “Black Widow,” her and Braff’s relationship have continued to be a point of contention for many fans.

When Pugh posted a photo of Braff and his dog on her Instagram for his birthday Monday, “within about eight minutes” people began “hurling abuse and being horrid” in the comments, she revealed.

“I will not allow that behavior on my page, I'm not about that,” she said Wednesday in an Instagram live story. "It makes me upset, it makes me sad that during this time when we really all need to be together."

She added definitively that her personal life is no one else’s business.

“I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love, and I would never in my life ever tell anyone who they can and cannot love,” she said.

Grande also offered encouraging words on Pugh’s Instagram writing, "'being hateful is not trendy’ a new tattoo for my chest,” and then adding, “oh I love and appreciate u so much.”
