Ariana Grande was truly living her dream when she got to work with her mentor Kristin Chenoweth on “The Voice.” A sneak peek shared by Chenoweth shows Grande talking about the advice she once received from her mentor that changed her life for good.

The “Wicked” alum joined Grande on this season of “The Voice” as an advisor for her team during Battle Rounds, and Grande couldn’t have asked for a better advisor.

The 28-year-old singer shared the sweet story of how the two first met backstage at “Wicked” when she was just 10.

"She teaches me all the time," Chenoweth noted in a super sweet clip she shared to social media on Monday. "Shut up!" Ariana fired back, telling her team members, Raquel Trinidad and Hailey Mia, "I learned everything I know from watching this woman. When we were doing Hairspray Live, you would pitch a joke, or like, a melody change here and there, and ask, 'Does this add value?' As a performer, to me, that changed my life entirely."

She continues, "Now, when I'm writing songs or performing songs, if I'm gonna do a run, I want to make sure that it adds value and that it has intention. That changed my entire life. I've never looked at anything the same way again. I swear to god. I'm literally eating my breakfast, like, 'Does this add value?'"

While sharing the video Chenoweth tweeted “I didn’t even know @ArianaGrande remembered me saying this!! I love you so much, baby girl. The @NBCTheVoice battles continue tonight! Who’s watching? #thevoice #teamariana”

Talking about the “Thank U, next” singer's experience on the show, a source told ET that she has been enjoying her time on "The Voice" so far, despite the “sometimes agonizing decisions she has to make as a coach during the Battle Rounds.”

The source further added, "She has looked up to the coaches for a while and she and Kelly have really formed a strong friendship. Ariana loves that this allows people to see her talents beyond her singing—she’s a writer and producer, and very knowledgeable about music. [She] is also having fun and loves joking around with the coaches."
