  • A Florida man was accosted for stabbing another man with a "homemade throwing star"
  • The man has been identified as Robert Hartsock, a 28-year-old resident of Pensacola
  • This happened in the thick of the coronavirus pandemic in Florida

A Florida man was apprehended by the police last Thursday in an incident where he stabbed a victim using a “homemade throwing star.” Authorities identified him as Robert Hartsock, 28, of Pensacola.

According to Fox News, Hartsock started “mouthing off” to the victim. After the incident, the victim claimed that the suspect pulled out a sharp object and began to stab him, wounding him in the arm, authorities said. The authorities arrived at the scene around 2 p.m., where they came upon the victim holding Hartsock down, his face in a flower bed.

When they arrived at the scene, the authorities said that the victim began telling them that Hartsock had just wounded him with a knife, which resembled a do-it-yourself shuriken. The suspect was caught in a headlock until the police arrived. The alleged victim was later treated for the stab wound on his arm.

The Pensacola Police Department took Hartsock in custody and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He is currently incarcerated at the Escambia County Jail.

It is strange how the Florida man managed to stay out and about in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, said that there are consequences that could be severe if the state reopens too soon. He also believes coronavirus is “still spreading” and advised cities and states not to reopen too quickly,

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation research center, one of the tools that were used to measure government reaction to coronavirus, had uploaded data for Florida. The data had projections of 5,800 deaths for the state and more than 147,000 deaths in the US, as a whole, by Aug. 1.

So far, the projections seem to be proving true. Florida reported Tuesday that there are 941 cases and 41 deaths, amounting to 41,923 cases and 1,779 deaths so far. The Florida man being out and about in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is definitely a puzzling occurrence.
