Colton Haynes has shared his views about anxiety disorders on Twitter and revealed that he has been battling his own anxiety issues since he was very young.

The “Arrow” star gave his fans a peek into his personal struggles when he shared a link on Twitter about an anxiety disorders Tuesday, Entertainment Tonight reported. The article, which was posted on Upvoted, was titled "Scientists Show How Anxiety May Affect Social Status."

After sharing the Upvoted article, Haynes wrote several Twitter messages sharing how he also suffers from anxiety attacks. The former “Teen Wolf” actor stated that it has been “battle” and a “constant struggle” since he started experiencing it during fifth grade.

"Anxiety had put me in the hospital a countless amount of times,” he shared. “Whether it be fainting, hyperventilating, or seizures...I've been through it. Just know ur not alone and it affects more ppl than you would ever know. We can overcome this. We can fight thru it and will."

Haynes also recounted how his anxiety issues affected his personal life, as well as work. He wrote on Twitter, "I've quit jobs because of anxiety, flaked on social events, family gatherings, birthdays, important movie/work tests. Its a serious problem."

He also asked his fans or people who know of individuals that are suffering through intense anxiety attacks to be compassionate and understanding. "Be there for those who struggle with anxiety & realize its a serious disorder,” he stated. “Its not a case of 'being dramatic.' It's a life long struggle."

The actor concluded his Twitter message with supportive and positive message. "Love those suffering,” he wrote. “Anxiety has caused me to be extremely agoraphobic & livin in constant fear of leavin my house at times. Ur not alone."

Several fans has responded to Haynes and posted their own supportive Twitter messages. Twitter user @callmemegan wrote, “@ColtonLHaynes your words speak right to me and hit hard thank you just thank you.”

Twitter user @gabeAlfassy also thanked the actor for sharing his story and battle with anxiety. He stated, “@ColtonLHaynes story of my life. thank you for being brave enough to share this.”

He added, “I know it will bring comfort to a lot of scared people.”
