“Arrow” Season 8 is officially on hiatus, and it left off on a pretty massive cliffhanger. Unfortunately, viewers won’t get answers until 2020.

On the fall finale of “Arrow,” Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Mia (Katherine McNamara) were having a heart-to-heart on Lian Yu when Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson), who is now Harbinger, told them that the Crisis started. However, “Crisis on Infinite Earths” picked the story back up quickly. Oliver died while evacuating Supergirl’s (Melissa Benoist) Earth, and he’ll stay dead--at least until January.

“Arrow” returns on Tuesay, Jan. 14 at 8 p.m. EST with Season 8, episode 8, better known as “Crisis on Infinite Earths” Part 4. Judging from the trailer, the Green Arrow will find a way to be involved despite his apparent death.

Before the Arrowverse crossover went on hiatus, Oliver’s body was brought back to life via the Lazarus Pit, but his soul wasn’t there. Lucifer (Tom Ellis) helped Constantine (Matt Ryan), Sara (Caity Lotz) and Mia traveled to Hell to get it, but Oliver refused to come with them. He instead followed Jim Corrigan (Stephen Lobo) who said Oliver has a different destiny.

That destiny will be revealed on Jan. 14. Parts 4 and 5 of “Crisis on Infinite Earths will air back-to-back, concluding the crossover. After that, “Arrow” only has a couple episodes left.

The final season is a shortened, 10-episode season. That means “Arrow” has three episodes left, two after “Crisis” finishes. Season 8, episode 9 will be a backdoor pilot for “Green Arrow and the Canaries,” starring McNamara’s Mia alongside Laurel (Katie Cassidy Rodgers) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy). Season 8, episode 10, airing Jan. 28, will be the series finale.
