Although Iggy Azalea and Azealia Banks finally ended their long-running feud, the two recently had a miscommunication. That caused some to think that their dislike for one another wasn’t completely gone, and that Banks in particular wasn’t completely onboard to end their beef.

On Wednesday, Banks addressed those who thought her comments about Azalea’s “premature” collaboration announcement were rude in a lengthy Instagram post. “Please let me clear up any misconceptions for anyone that took my words out of context: I am incredibly flattered and so excited about a future collaboration with Iggy,” she wrote.

Banks went on to explain that she and Azalea are no longer at war and have worked past their issues. “She and I are both on a whole other level right now, and I have nothing but respect for her as a woman, an artist, and a business woman,” she continued.

Despite her previous post, the “212” rapper admitted that she was “thrilled” about their upcoming music and believes it’s best for the two women to stand united rather than feud.

“Since Iggy announced the news on social media, I’ve gotten sooo many inquires about about the song from excited fans, and my note was simply intended to pass along information, as I’ve always been known to be 100% transparent with my fans,” she explained.

The rapper went on to explain that the deal between the two artists is still in talks, but she plans to let fans know when she has official confirmation about the collaboration. Banks’ explanation comes after Azalea’s earlier announcement, which seemingly confirmed the two would be collaborating on a record.

On Monday, Azalea announced that Banks would be featured on her upcoming album. “Public service announcement. Azealia is going to be on DD. We are collaborating. Burn your wigs now or preserve them in your freezer for release day,” the “Fancy” rapper wrote on Snapchat.

However, some fans were not happy with the announcement, which resulted in Azalea explaining herself on Twitter. “If you cant understand my desire to turn YEARS worth of negativity into a positive interaction then thats your loss my dear. Peace!” she wrote.

“I dont expect you guys to understand why i would collaborate with someone who has publicly said they hope i die.” the rapper continued.

“This has been something extremely negative for so long, if there is a way to make it positive and also be creative together, im here for it,” Azalea added.

Banks later shared a post on Instagram the same day, which conflicted with the Australian rapper’s announcement. “Iggy and I haven’t officially agreed to collaborate just yet. Although super flattering her announcement was very premature, as I still have yet to hear which track it is she would like me to feature on,” she explained.

Despite the lack of confirmation for the collaboration, Banks insisted that she will do everything she can to make sure she and Azalea release a song together.
