Back in June, Azealia Banks unleashed her wrath toward the U.K. rap industry after she was axed from the east London festival due to her tirade against former One Direction member Zayn Malik. This week, the “212” rapper is singing a different tune. In fact, she’s apologizing to the U.K. and is asking for a second chance to come back.

Banks took to Facebook on Tuesday to reveal that she’s feeling sad and that she’s sorry for the things she said against the U.K. rap industry. She also made it clear that she wants to return to the European country.

Prior to this, she ranted about how she regrets leaving Europe and her fans behind and tried to fit into the American hip-hop industry, only to be “trashed” and “ridiculed.” The controversial rapper also revealed her frustration over being misunderstood and how American hip-hop turned its back on her “so many times.”

The “Ice Princess” hitmaker admitted in her tirade that if she was given a do-over, she’d certainly pay more attention to her European fans following the release of her hit single “212.” She imagined that if she had stayed in the U.K., her career would have been more established by now, and she would not be involved in this “hip hop-politico” mess.

It appears that Banks’ rant was triggered by a fan, who asked the 25-year-old singer-songwriter why she seems to be trying so hard to fit in an industry that does not want her. The fan further questioned why Banks couldn’t just focus on showing her talents to the community that really values her. In response, Banks said that it was a huge mistake for her to focus on the hip-hop community, which ultimately ruined her career.

Just this March, Banks deleted her Twitter account due to the negativity and all the hate that was directed toward her because of her posts on social media. Before deleting her account, she slammed the U.S. media culture for being “disgusting and junky,” as reported by Complex. Her decision also came after the got into Twitter beefs against her fellow artists, including Iggy Azalea, Lady Gaga, T.I., Pharrell Williams and A$AP Rocky, among others.

As a very opinionated person, Banks has always been very vocal about her thoughts on certain issues. Amid the recently concluded U.S. presidential election, the “Chasing Time” rapper made headlines for being an outspoken supporter of President-elect Donald Trump. She also bravely commented on the protests against Trump and has since revealed her admiration for Kim Kardahian’s husband, Kanye West, because of the latter’s voice in the industry.
