It’s not uncommon to see a recent “The Bachelor” or “The Bachelorette” lead trade in their stack of roses for a pair of dancing shoes come the completion of their season of the ABC dating competition. However, viewers shouldn’t anticipate Season 22 star Arie Luyendyk Jr. to be a future contestant.

“I’m not going to go on ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” the 36-year-old former professional race care driver told People Magazine in their Jan. 8 issue when asked about his ultimate goal for starring on the series.

Instead of leaving one ABC reality show for another, Arie said he’s more interested in going back to his normal life once the “Bachelor” comes to a close.

“I came to get engaged. I want to be married. I want to have kids. I want to go back to the life I had six months ago but share that life with someone,” he explained.

If Arie has a change of heart and decides to take a chance at winning the “DWTS” Mirror Ball Trophy, he would be in good company. Past “Bachelors” Chris Soules, Nick Viall and Sean Lowe have all competed on the show, as well as former “Bachelorette” leads Trista Sutter and Melissa Rycroft.

As expected, Arie did not reveal who his winner is, though there are rumors he is engaged to one contestant in particular. (You can find out who the speculated lucky lady is here.) Arie did share that he fell in love with two women during the course of filming and is now in a good place.

“It was very hard, but I wouldn’t change anything,” he told the magazine. “No regrets.”
