'Bachelor In Paradise': Here's Why Sarah Hamrick Abruptly Left The Beach

Sarah Hamrick abruptly left the beach on Monday's episode of "Bachelor in Paradise." The show's host, Jesse Palmer, said the reality star had to rush to a family emergency.

After the episode aired, the 24-year-old contestant disclosed the reason behind her departure from the show. She penned a post on Instagram saying that her grandmother had died.

"Almost paradise. kinda," she wrote. "Opening myself up to another chance at love here was a challenge in itself, but when my grandma passed, having one of the most vulnerable and heart-breaking moments of my life captured while being there was something I never expected."

Hamrick went on to share that it was a reminder for everyone that people who appear on television are "real people, with real lives and families beyond what you may see on tv."

"When those worlds intersect like it did for me, it reminds me of what's really important, and to just be kind. I hope this can remind you of the same as you continue to enjoy watching paradise unfold. all love, thank you so much for all your support," she noted further.

Her post was accompanied by a carousel of photos, among which was a picture of her younger self with her grandmother. There was also a snap of a bouquet sent to her by the show with a note that said, "Sarah, we are so sorry for your loss. Sending you and your family all our love during this difficult time. Love, your bachelor family."

Messages of condolence poured in in the post's comments section.

Fellow contestant Sierra Jackson, who quit the show in its second week, said, "I love you sm," while a fan wrote, "Keeping you and your family in my prayers Ms. Sarah during this difficult time and love you always."

Hamrick, a wealth management advisor in New York, grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She exited "Bachelor in Paradise" Season 8, which was filmed in Nuevo Vallarta in Mexico, in the third week of the production.

Before joining the show, Hamrick was a contestant on "The Bachelor" Season 26, which aired from January to March. She was eliminated from the said show in its seventh week.
