“Diablo IV” is, without a doubt, Blizzard's main project. Ever since the next-generation RPG dungeon crawler was announced last month, players have been wanting to take a crack at Lilith and explore the vast darkness and gore the game promises to bring.

They will have to wait, though. Despite this, Blizzard still has one more game to offer. “Diablo Immortal,” the mobile-based installment of the popular cult classic, has been under the radar for quite some time, and only a few are talking about it. There is also little word that's coming out of Blizzard's work table when it comes to “Diablo Immortal,” but it's safe to say that the game is underway.

For those that don't know, “Diablo Immortal” will take place five years after the destruction of the Worldstone, which was corrupted during the final chapter of “Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.” This time around, players will battle the Herald of Terror, Skarn, and spoil its plan to gather the fragments of the Worldstone and resurrect, who else, but Diablo himself.

Wowhead's recently published article offered more insights on the upcoming mobile version of “Diablo.” For one, the website highlighted the fact that just like “Diablo III,” “Diablo Immortal” will have six playable classes: Barbarian, Crusader, Monk, Demon Hunter, Necromancer and Wizard. Each character will be unique and can use powerful Ultimate Abilities to defeat hordes of monsters and demons.

Additionally, “Diablo Immortal” will offer eight unique zones, with Westmarch as the “central hub” for buying items, crafting and accessing their stash. The website also said that the game will feature new monsters as well as “returning favorites” such as the Vile Mothers from “Diablo II.

There are also seven instanced dungeons where up to four players can have a “more intimate combat experience.” Equipment, on the other hand, is one aspect of “Diablo Immortal” that they consider as an enigma. Information has been very limited, although Blizzard has confirmed that there will be Legendary items in store. These are Flamespite, Winter's Remorse, Inna's Palm and Storm Bringer.

“Diablo Immortal” will be an always-online game, meaning that players need to be connected at all times. Blizzard also “clarified questions” regarding the game's additional modes, and pointed that hardcore mode “is not currently planned” for “Diablo Immortal.” The same can be said about Player vs Player (PvP) and offline mode.

There is no structured time frame on when “Diablo Immortal” will be released, but Lead Game Designer Wyatt Cheng said that Blizzard will have a “clear messaging” once they are ready to talk about the game's next phase of development.

Android users can pre-register for the game for a chance to have early access to “Diablo Immortal,” although it's set to be on the iOS platform as well.
