Billie Eilish paid a tribute to musician Taylor Hawkins, who died on March 25, at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday. The 20-year-old singer donned a black t-shirt with the late musician’s face printed on it.

During the event, the singer performed the title track of her second studio album, "Happier Than Ever," which was dropped in July 2021. Eilish gave the powerful performance with her brother, Finneas O'Connell, who was also responsible for producing the music album.

A Twitter user shared the clip of the performance:

One of the fans also shared screenshots from the clip showing Hawkins' face printed on Eilish's black t-shirt.

Hawkins was the drummer of Foo Fighters, the band formed by Dave Grohl after he left Nirvana. The musician died last month at the age of 50 in a hotel room in Bogata after complaining about chest pain.

According to a release from the Attorney General's Office in Bogota, the drummer had 10 substances in his system when he died. Hawkins was married to Alison and the couple shared two kids: Oliver Shane, 16, and Annabelle, 13.

Apart from performing at the event, Eilish was nominated in various categories including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Music Video and Best Music Film. However, the singer didn't win any.

Eilish won two Grammys last year, one for "Everything I Wanted" in the Record of the Year category, and another for "No Time to Die" in the category of Best Song Written for Visual Media.

Fans took to Twitter following the event and shared their reaction to Eilish's performance and nominations.

"Billie Eilish losing 7 nominations and leaving the Grammys empty handed is a travesty of unspeakable proportions," one of the fans wrote. "Happier Than Ever remains one of the most solid bodies of work of 2021 and it’s a shame for the Recording Academy that they failed to recognize that."

Another fan wrote, "No big deal or anything, but billie eilish just did the greatest grammys performance i’ve ever seen."
