  • Duke Winston wants to be the villain in "Black Panther 2"
  • M'Baku and T'Challa have had their problems in the past
  • Namor may be the villain in the sequel

Who will be the next villain in “Black Panther 2”? This is the subject of a huge discussion among the fans. While the producers are yet to confirm who the next big bad will be, cast member Winston Duke wants M’Baku as a candidate for the role.

M’Baku has a complicated relationship with T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman). However, he has mostly been supportive of the king of Wakanda whenever there has been an external threat.

In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Duke said that M’Baku can be a good villain for the sequel because of the all the things that are going on with the character. He explained that a good Marvel villain has the ability to see things in his own way, and in the character’s mind he is doing all the right things, even though they seem villainous to others.

After the events of “Avengers: Infinity War,” T’Challa was gone for five years and there was little hope of his return at that time. M’Baku may have stepped into the leadership role in the absence of the king, and this can be the source of conflict between the two characters in “Black Panther 2.”

The fans, however, would like to see the introduction of a new villain. Comic book character Namor is expected to be introduced in the sequel as the next big bad. According to Screen Rant, some of the actors who can be cast in this role are Ian Anthony Dale, Rick Yune, Henry Golding, Luke Evans, and Keanu Reeves.

Filming of “Black Panther 2” is expected to begin by early 2021 at Fox Studios in Australia, CBR reported. Ryan Coogler will be back as the director, and the film will be released on May 6, 2022. More details about the cast and plot may be revealed after the production starts.
