Tom (Ryan Eggold) will find new information about his past in “The Blacklist” Season 4, episode 13. NBC/The Blacklist

“The Blacklist” Season 4, episode 13 may shed more light on the new baddie who’s gunning for Red (James Spader) and his criminal organization.

NBC has released the synopsis for “The Blacklist” Season 4, episode 13, titled “Isabella Stone,” hinting that Red’s search for the person after him will get more complicated. The previous episodes hinted that there’s a mysterious mastermind or organization trying to take down Red and destroy his criminal operation. He previously enlisted Tom’s (Ryan Eggold) help in hunting down the perpetrator who is getting rid of his associates one by one, but they didn’t find the real baddie. This time, Red will be needing the assistance of the FBI to keep his operation from falling apart.

Based on the synopsis for the upcoming episode of “The Blacklist,” Tom will also have some hunting to do of his own. Unlike Red, however, Liz’s (Megan Boone) husband will look for information about his past. While the synopsis did not reveal whether or not this has something to do with his family, it’s possible that it will be related to his mother, Scottie Hargrave (Famke Janssen). Last season, it was revealed that Scottie is Tom’s mother.

“The Task Force springs into action to find a sophisticated criminal (guest star Melora Hardin) who has been targeting Red’s (James Spader) businesses. An unexpected event sets Tom (Ryan Eggold) on the hunt for information about his past,” read the synopsis for the episode, via CarterMatt.

In “The Blacklist” Season 4, episode 12, titled “Natalie Luca,” Red initially suspected his longtime rival Baldur Magnusson (Daniel Davis) of killing his accountant Zack Smoll (Nick Reynolds). He then hired Tom for a job, which involves pretending to be notorious assassin Edgar Legat and leading Red straight to Magnusson. Red also revealed that Legat is not a real person, but an identity he uses to cover up the crimes he and his associates commit. When they managed to find Magnusson, however, it turned out that while he did take advantage of Smoll’s death financially, he didn’t order the hit himself.
