BLACKPINK 's Jennie Kim is featured in the latest trailer of the upcoming HBO series "The Idol."

The trailer shows the K-pop star dancing inside a packed club with Depp Lily Rose-Depp. She flashes a sinister smile while lounging in a sauna as the character of Rose-Depp asks her, "What was the name of that club?" The trailer also shows other cast members, including Suzanna Son, Troye Sivan, Moses Sumney, Jane Adams, Dan Levy, Jennie Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsey, Hank Azaria, and also series co-creator Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye.

The "Ice Cream" singer's role in the series is not yet known but it is the second time she has been featured in its trailer.

The series, co-written by "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson, follows the story of a rising pop idol who enters into a complicated relationship with a self-help guru and cult leader played by The Weeknd.

The teaser premiered at The Weeknd's concert Saturday at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. It was shared on the official YouTube page of HBO the following day. The series premiere date is yet to be announced but the streaming platform has confirmed the drama is "coming soon."

The show underwent significant changes in the recent months after director Amy Seimetz left the show, Variety reported.

"'The Idol's' creative team continues to build, refine, and evolve their vision for the show and they have aligned on a new creative direction. The production will be adjusting its cast and crew accordingly to best serve this new approach to the series. We look forward to sharing more information soon," HBO told the outlet in April.

The "How You Like That" singer's fans are ecstatic over her acting debut.

"And if jennie's character is a villain, she did nothing wrong," a fan tweeted along with a screenshot of Jennie from the trailer.

"I'm..Maybe if that theory she's the one that's gonna bring Lily's character to the cult is true, then she's kinda a villain but I still believe she will be the friend," a supporter noted.

Jennie earlier revealed she was excited for "The Idol" and said, "I found the script very intriguing, so I wanted to be part of the series. I feel very excited. I'll work hard, so please watch me with affection."

The 26-year-old singer is gearing up for a busy schedule in the coming months following the premiere of Blackpink's much-awaited comeback single "Pink Venom." The track is part of their new album "Born Pink," which will release in September. Jennie and her bandmates Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé will also embark on a world tour in October.
